The Letter for the King – Tonke Dragt. Reviewed by Awesome Guy (9)

When 16 year old Tiuri, son of the famous knight Tiuri The Valiant, is about to become a knight he hears a desperate call for help. He answers it and is given a letter. He must take the letter far across the great mountains to the kingdom of Unauwen but many enemies want the letter and want him dead.

He must escape the red riders of Eviellan and their master the Black Knight with the red shield. If he fails, the kingdom of Unauwen will be invaded and the king will die.

Will he succeed or will he fail!

I loved this book – it was really exciting and tense.

It was first published in Holland in 1962 and has been a bestseller there ever since. It has only just been published in English (2013) – which is great for all of us!
