A band of gorillas are plucked from the wilderness, by humans. The humans took the gorillas on a long trek across deserts.
Eventually the exhausted group arrive at the ferry port. The ferry takes the animals to Dreamland. Dreamland is a civilisation that convert animals into humans, by teaching them the ways of the human race.
The story is dictated by a gorilla. That is one of the things that makes this book so unique. The story-line is gripping, and even though it is a novella – about 100 pages long – it is still a great read.
WARNING: Has a few bad swear words.
Thank you to the kind woman at the Peirene Press stall at the Alexandra Palace Farmer’s market, for recommending this to me, as well as another two – soon to be reviewed. I’ll be back!
