Jim Wimple is an unsuspecting lad. All he wants from life is a Bazoom!. Bazoom!s are the newest form of transport; they are primarily scooters, but they have boosters and for some unknown reason look way cooler that a normal scooter. But when Jim’s best friend (Will)’s sister (Fiona, who Jim just might have an isty-bitsy-teeny-weeny crush on, but don’t tell anybody) gets a Bazoom! Jim wants one even more.
So Jim asks his dad (oh and by they way, Bazoom!s are off the chart expensive), but guess what he says “No.” just plain old “No.”. ‘That’s a bit odd’ thought Jim – Jim’s dad is always cheery, and would explain his reasons for saying “No.” – ‘He would normally elaborate that.’
That is when Jim spots something fishy. He gets the idea of planting a note on his dad’s desk at work (Jim’s dad is a ‘accountant’) to persuade him; that is when it all goes wrong…
This is a great books, because it is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo funny and it has a great concept and plot. It is full of mystery, and will definitely make it high on my end of year list!
Thanks to Piccadilly Press for sending this and the next on over to me!
