The Family from One End Street – Eve Garnett. Reviewed by Blue Kitten 100 (9)

The family from One End Street is about a mother called Rosie and a father called Joe having 7 children, 3 girls and 4 boys. Each chapter is about an adventure from a different person in the family.

It is set in the olden days with pennies and shillings. The family’s dream is to go to London to see Uncle Charlie’s horse drawn cart in a competition. I think this book is for the age group 8 to 100.

I liked this book because it has lots of funny adventures. It also has catastrophes. Like when Kate, the 2nd oldest child, looses her school uniform hat that the government had to buy for her because the family is poor.

Read the book to find out more.
