Wildwood by Colin Meloy (illustrated by Carson Ellis) is a brilliant book. It follows the adventure of a teenage girl named Prue McKeel, around 13, when her baby brother Mac is carried away by crows which leads her and her classmate Curtis Mehlberg into the deep unknown of the Impassable Wilderness. There they get themselves tangled in all sorts of trouble and magic. They find secrets they never would have discovered outside the forest. Get gripped into the world of Wildwood, that you’ll find you never can leave.
This book is the first in a trilogy, Wildwood, Under Wildwood and Wildwood Imperium. This book I recommend for around 9-10+, and official price £8.99 pounds. A truly beautiful book that will pull you into its dark but enchanting world forever.
