Kyla has no memory whatsoever of her past life. Her mind has been wiped blank. She has been slated.

She goes to live with an adopted family where she finds it overwhelming at first. She overcomes her fears by sketching and drawing to let all the sad feelings out.

Amy, her new older sister, was slated too. Although Amy settled in much quicker than Kyla, they become great friends.
Their mother (often referred to as the dragon) has quite a spiteful personality whereas their dad is quite laid-back and kind.

Then Kyla finds a secret which reveals her past. Who can she trust?

I really recommend this book as it is a thrilling first novel of the series of Kyla’s life. This book would suit many children probably aged 13-16. I picked this up from a bookshop and I certainly do not regret it…
