Sophie is on a camping trip and is afraid of insects. When a mysterious boy gives Sophie a compass she is transported into a hot desert where she meets a man called Bear who takes her on really cool adventures.

In the end Sophie gets back to where she was before. Because of Bear, Sophie isn’t frightened of insects anymore.

I enjoyed the book because throughout the story it gave you great survival tips and there is a fun quiz at the back of the book to test your survival knowledge! I would recommend that this book is suitable for children aged 7 upwards.
