This book in about a boy, Fergus, who loves bikes.

He is preparing for a kids racing competition when their new bikes are vandalised.
They come second in the competition. His mum marries Jambo Patterson and his real dad, Suet, is saved.

I found it quite an easy read. The book is probably aimed at younger readers.
