Mango Bubbles Day 2017

We had another brilliant Mango Bubbles Day. Well, two days – it spread over June and July this year! As in previous years, we raised funds for Beanstalk, the charity that helps children who struggle with reading. With a bit more money still to come in, we’ve so far raised over £1,100 through donations, booksales and our online raffle.

A massive thank you to the authors who took part this year. Steve Cole did a brilliantly entertaining event at Leaf Cafe & Bookshop in Hertford.

And Alice Hemming, Kate Scott, Piers Torday and Robin Stevens visited every single class in Mango’s former primary school.

And we had all these lovely prizes donated to our raffle!

Mango Bubbles Day 2016

In June 2016 we celebrated our second anniversary. Through a raffle, booksales and donations by the kids at Mango’s school, we raised a mighty £1,340 for children’s reading charity Beanstalk. We did all this with the lovely people at Leaf Cafe & Bookshop in Hertford.

Huge thanks to the authors who came to Mango’s school and to Leaf. You’re amazing!

Thank you, too, to all the authors who donated signed books for our raffle. And especially to Helen Moss who offered herself as a prize! She was ‘won’ by someone who generously passed the prize on to Beanstalk! So we arranged for one of the schools Beanstalk works with to be the lucky recipients of this brilliant prize!

Mango Bubbles Day 2015

We celebrated our first anniversary by holding the first ever Mango Bubbles Day! And we raised money for children’s reading charity Beanstalk.

We had an online raffle to win fantastic signed books by David Walliams, Piers Torday, Frank Cottrell Boyce, Robin Stevens, Helen Moss, Abi Elphinstone, Anna Kemp, Elli Woollard, Nick Cook, Jane Hardstaff, Jo Cotterill, Tatum Flynn and McFly band members Tom Fletcher and Dougie Poynter. Plus a set of eight Mr Gum books by Andy Stanton, illustrated by David Tazzyman. And a copy of The Minecraft Blockopedia.

We arranged for Piers Torday to visit children’s bookshop Leaf, in Hertford. Piers wrote The Last Wild trilogy and has won the Guardian Children’s Fiction Prize and been nominated for the Waterstones Children’s Books Prize. He was brilliant!

And we had three brilliant authors in to visit my school – Elli Woollard, Anna Kemp and Helen Moss. We had a non-uniform day, a raffle (to win book vouchers) and we had a book sale. All to raise money for Beanstalk!
